Ooh … Begitu! I see, I see …

Setelah kelayapan di internet, cari-cari info dari sana-sini dan bongkar pasang tips (terutama programming), akhirnya baru sadar … ternyata begitu caranya … [all about tricks and tips I have found during my work as programmer.]

Sand Paintings on glass surface??? WOW.

This is about a sand painting from SandFantasy.com

Two days ago, I almost started cursing as I waited on downloading one email from my POP mail retriever, because this email contained one 3.48MB zipped attachment, sent by an old friend.

and since I was busy on working for a database project, I just saved the attachment
and completely forgot about it until I reorganized my desktop today.

I was still in bad mood when I finally decided to take a look at the file.
By just thinking about my friend sending this big attachment to more than 10 people at once, including to me,
would have me get a little bit high tempered, especially when she knew that most of the people in her recipient lists usually get their emails by POP mail retriever.

By the way, the email had “Love 2008” as Subject.
I finally found out that the file she attached was a zipped video file (.wmv)
she sent email containing a 3.48MB zipped video file to more than 10 people at once!

*sigh* Doesn’t she understand about overloading the bandwidth traffic???

anyway, I finally opened the file and …. a WOW!!! Sand Painting on some certain glass surface.
just try watching the video. will you believe that it was a sand painting animation?

I completely forgot my bad mood towards my friend. WOW! this video is really worth to see!
I never knew that such talents ever existed in this world. fabulous!

the Artist just painted and painted using the sands and all the paintings just appeared there on the screens in the video as if we have actually been watching a computer graphic animation, but in reality, this is a video of live sand painting by very talented hands. Two thumbs up for the Artist!

The video itself displayed Ilana Yahav as the Artist’s name, and perhaps my friend got this video from SandFantasy.com because the video displayed the link at the footer.

I decided to also share the file online, so then you can also access it.
You might want to download this entertaining video to save onto your own desktop. I have also uploaded the file and you can get it here. The file was zipped (3.48MB).

I will also pay a visit to SandFantasy.com once I finish on this blog writing.
This is a great sand painting video! really! I’m glad my friend has ever sent it. šŸ˜€

a free alternative to Adobe Photoshop

Paint.Net is a freeware, and according to Photo News Today:

Paint.NET is image and photo manipulation software designed to be used on computers that run Windows. It supports layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools. It started development as an undergraduate college senior design project mentored by Microsoft, and is currently being maintained by some of the alumni that originally worked on it. Originally intended as a free replacement for the MS Paint software that comes with Windows, it has grown into a powerful yet simple tool for photo and image editing. The programming language used to create Paint.NET is C#, with a small amount of C++ for installation and shell-integration related functionality.

I was visiting some forums which recommended this freeware as replacement for Adobe Photoshop, Corel Paint Shop Pro, Microsoft Photo Editor, and The GIMP. I used Adobe Photoshop 7 back then when I was still working as a designer, and I prefered Photoshop to Corel Paint.
I have also tried The GIMP but somehow I don’t really get attached to it.

I don’t know about this one, will start trying it by now.
How about you all? Any free design tools out there that you would recommend? By the way, I’m looking something free which is more like Corel Draw. the vector image tools. Please leave your suggestion if you have some certain recommendation. Thanks in advance. šŸ™‚

Anyway, … for the Paint.Net version 3.22
you can also download it here (1.49 MB).

Other anti viruses detection for PCMAV RC24

Maseko blog said that the files uploaded in his website originated from DVD PC Media 02/2008 Edition he bought. He directly made the zip package from the DVD’s PCMAV folder. But there is something to note: as what the previous releases experienced, some other anti viruses still detected PCMAV as a virus or any other malware. and for PCMAV RC24, two anti viruses alarmed for PCMAV-CLN.exe and four other anti viruses alarmed for file PCMAV-RTP.exe. Maseko said that these two files were uploaded directly from PC Media Magazine DVD, and got scanned using VirusTotal.com

A false alarm? Could be. I don’t know, it wasn’t my capacity to give any confirmation for this. But Maseko blog provided these links for you to review about how VirusTotal.com alerted about:

You might want to visit http://www.pcmedia.co.id/ and Maseko Blog to ask more information (they used Indonesian language, but will probably respond to English readers as well?).
I got information about this AntiVirus from these sites too.

if you can read Indonesian language, please visit the page which Maseko blog talked about this PC Magazine anti virus.

good luck.
